Is November a good time to visit Seville?
Yes, and for a reason most guides skip. The usual answer is “fewer crowds, lower prices” — true, but it undersells it. The real difference is that in November you can actually get in.
Through September and October the Royal Alcázar runs out of tickets days ahead. Visitors arrive in the city having planned everything except the one thing they came for, and find nothing available. By November that pressure lifts. The monument is the same, the city is the same, and the door is open.
The weather, honestly
- Daytime: around 20 °C, with highs reaching 22 °C. Comfortable for walking all day, which August is not.
- Night: around 10 °C. Cooler than people expect. Seville’s buildings are designed to keep heat out, so indoors can feel colder than outdoors at midday.
- Rain: about seven days in the month, roughly 68 mm. November and December are the wettest months of the Seville year. Seven rainy days still leaves twenty-three that are not.
Pack layers and a light rain jacket. You will be taking the jacket off by noon on most days.
The one real drawback: the day is short
Winter opening hours begin on 1 October, and they change how you plan a day more than the weather does.

In summer the Alcázar stays open until 19:00. In November it closes at 17:00, and the sun is down by about 18:15. That removes roughly two hours of usable sightseeing from every day, which matters far more on a three-day trip than a shower does.
The practical consequence: do the Alcázar in the morning. Its gardens are the thing people remember, and in November they are worth seeing in daylight rather than in the last hour before closing.
What’s on in Seville in November
All Saints’ Day, 1 November
A public holiday across Spain, and a genuinely local one — families visit the cemeteries and the pastry shops fill with huesos de santo. Useful to know: the Alcázar does not close for it. Its only closing days all year are 1 and 6 January, Good Friday and 25 December. Many visitors assume a Spanish public holiday means shuttered monuments, and skip a perfectly good day.
The Seville European Film Festival
Held in early to mid-November at the Teatro Lope de Vega and the Nervión cinemas — expected 6 to 14 November in 2026. Much of the programme is screened in the original language with subtitles, so it is accessible if you don’t speak Spanish. It also fills hotels in the city centre during those dates, which is worth knowing when you book.
Santa Cecilia, around 22 November
The patron saint of musicians. Her feast day brings free concerts from local bands and conservatory students in squares and churches across the city. Unannounced, unticketed, and one of the nicer things that can happen to you on a November evening in Seville.
And at the very end of the month: the lights
Seville switches on its Christmas lights on the last weekend of November — hundreds of streets and squares, with the main run along Avenida de la Constitución, Sierpes and Plaza de San Francisco. If your trip falls in the last days of November you get both seasons at once: November’s calm and December’s decoration, before the crowds that come with it.
A two-day plan that works with the short daylight
Day 1 · The three monuments, starting early
Alcázar first thing, then the Cathedral and the climb up the Giralda. Together they take about three hours at a reasonable pace. Doing them in one morning leaves the afternoon free and means you are inside the Alcázar’s gardens while the light is still good.
Day 2 · The city itself
Santa Cruz in the morning, Plaza de España around midday when the low November sun hits the tilework, and Triana across the river in the afternoon. All outdoors, all free, and all better at 20 °C than at 40 °C.

Is it too cold to sit outside in November?
Not during the day. At around 20 °C, terraces are comfortable from late morning until the sun goes down at about 18:15. Evenings are a different matter — bring a jacket for dinner.
