The Cathedral is an active place of worship and applies a dress code at the door: no bare shoulders, no shorts or skirts above the knee, and hats off inside. It is enforced, and there is no way around it once you are there — so plan what you wear before you leave. A light scarf in your bag is enough in summer.
Cathedral and Giralda tickets are nominative: each one carries the name of a single visitor, and the monument can ask for matching identification at the entrance. Have the document numbers to hand before you start the booking — you will need one per person, children included. How nominative tickets work.
Your entry is tied to a specific time slot set by the monument, and the group goes in together. Arriving a little early means a relaxed start instead of a rushed one.
There are no stairs for most of the way up — the tower was built with 34 gentle ramps so that a rider on horseback could reach the top. The last stretch to the bell chamber, however, is a flight of steps, and there is no lift. We do not recommend the climb to anyone with reduced mobility, and it is not wheelchair accessible. You are very welcome on the tour either way: if you prefer not to go up, you wait inside the Cathedral while the group climbs, and we carry on together afterwards. Comfortable shoes make the ascent much easier, and the tower gets warm in summer.
The guided visit lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes, including the climb up the Giralda, but your ticket does not expire with it. Stay on for as long as you like, right up to closing time: go back to whatever you liked most, take your time over the many chapels and treasures, or rest in the shade of the Patio de los Naranjos, with the Giralda rising above you.
We never cancel a departure for lack of participants. Once your booking is confirmed, the visit goes ahead on the date and time you chose — even if you end up being the only ones.
The meeting point is at the main entrance of the Archivo de Indias (Monument located between the Alcázar and the Cathedral). The Archivo de Indias has a single interior access door, on the side facing the Avenida de la Constitución, next to the Jardines de la Lonja. If you want to see the Royal Alcázar as well, our complete tour includes all three monuments in a single booking, with one guide and one entry time. It is also the better option when Alcázar slots for your dates are already gone, since the Cathedral rarely closes as far ahead.

At the main entrance of the Archivo de Indias, on Avenida de la Constitución, between the Cathedral and the Alcázar. Our guide or a member of staff waits there before the start time and takes the group in from there.
Entry is tied to a specific time slot set by the monument, so the group cannot wait. If you are running late, contact us as soon as you can and we will do whatever is possible, but we cannot guarantee entry once the slot has passed.
